For his Sonic Lecture, Stuart Argabright (Black Rain) will recount the paths that him to work on projects with the author, William Gibson (known as the “noir prophet” of the ‘cyberpunk’ subgenre). Including the soundtrack to 1994’s sci-fi film, Johnny Mnemonic.
Stuart Argabright was founder member of Ike Yard, cult band from NYC’s late 1970’s underground scene,‘no-wave’ and one of the only US bands signed to Factory Records. He was a member of Dominatrix, (whose influential hit The Dominatrix Sleeps Tonight was their only release), and later formed Black Rain whose brooding, dark electronic soundtracks from the 1990s are currently being reissued on the Blackest Ever Black label.
